Re-Opening of Paperdoll Boutique

1. Your store reopening was the past Saturday. How was the turn-out?
The turn out for Paper Doll Boutique's re opening was amazing. It was so great to see all of the support!
2. Whats different about Paperdoll this time around besides the location?
When Paper Doll opened a little over 3 years ago I was only 19 so my clientele was young as well. I'm older and so is my clientele so Paper Doll is phasing in to more contemporary lines and an older aesthetic . I've also partner up with Ali who actually helped me open the first location. We have a lot planned for you guys !
3. I see you've started to blog on the paperdoll website. What kinds of topics can readers excpect?
The Paper Doll blog will not only feature updates about the boutique but we will also keep our readers updated on world news, styling tips, trends and need to have items in and out of store.
4. What upcoming promos or events do you have on the paperdoll calender?
We have in store events, community based events and also collaborations. Follow us on twitter to stay updated @paperdoll_NYC
5. What message do you want paperdoll to send out to the girls in our community?
We want every girl to know that with hard work and dedication your dreams are in arms reach.
6. Whats next for paperdoll? (new merchandise, sales, added accesories, etc.)
Paper Doll will have new merchandise, added accessories and new services. We will offer personal shopping and styling and Vintage lending.
Paperdoll had shoes, accesories, great vintage wear, and lots of other dope clothing. My new one stop shop when I need something cute to wear. We enjoyed the free manicures and mimosas at paperdoll that day and Jaz even got a pair of hot new pants!

5 Do's and Don'ts of Makeup Application
THE 5 DO'S AND DONT'S OF BASIC MAKEUP APPLICATION
DO
•Use Proper Lighting- It's important when you apply your make-up that you do so in an environment where the lighting is similar to that where you will be. If you are applying your make-up for a daytime job, be sure to use as much natural daylight as possible. If you're going to be in a setting where the lighting will be dim, or at night, then adjust the lighting accordingly.
•Clean Your Face- Make sure your face is clear of any dirt or any previous make-up, this will ensure the smooth look of your foundation and/or concealer, and it will allow the pores on your face to be clear of anything that may later produce and pimples or bumps because of make-up applied on dirt or makeup applied on old makeup,
Makeup should only go on a freshly washed and moisturized face.
•Find Products that match your skin tone- When buying any foundation or concealer do a test in the store my dabbing a bit on the flat part of your hand, and rub it in, if the color blends well into your skin, then you have found your tone, remember your color, there will be a number or a letter combined with a number or a certain name somewhere on the bottle, this is significant in future purchases, if the color is too light or too dark continue to look for a color you find that is most compatible with YOUR skin tone
•Remove your makeup- Makeup should be removed every night before bedtime to allow your skin to breathe, if you do not have makeup removal pads, some Vaseline and a cotton ball, tissue, or paper towel will get the job done as well.
•Clean your makeup brushes and tools - Your makeup utensils need to be cleaned often to prevent and eliminate bacteria which can form on them.
DON'T
•OVER APPLY - Apply your make-up so it looks heavy. Keep your look simple and fresh for anywhere, you may go work, school, or out on the town.
•Be inappropriate with your makeup- Make-up suitable for work depends on where you work and what you do. For example a bright-red lip may not work in a corporate office but would look great on someone working in fashion. The key is to find a look that works for you and suits the environment you are in.
•Use makeup that is not compatible with your skin type.
•Use expired makeup - bacteria could have formed and you risk causing infections and skin irritations.
•Use harsh cosmetic products for the skin.
The purpose of cosmetics is to enhance a woman's natural beauty. It's important to remember this. Make-up is designed to help minimize imperfections in the skin, and accentuate the shape of the facial features.
Lace Front Wigs Step-by -Step!
Whether you are experiencing hair loss, or just want a fabulous new look, a lace front wig is a great hair option. Once a secret among celebrities, lace wigs are now widely available and affordable.
A lace front wig is a wig made with human hair tied to a lace base. The two types of lace used in lace front wigs are French lace and Swiss lace. A "lace front" wig has lace at the hairline that is secured with liquid adhesive or tape. When the lace is adhered to your own hairline, it gives an invisible hairline, making it look as though the hair is growing out of your scalp.

Lace wigs can be a 1,2,3 step just as long as you do it right. Some lace wigs can be glued on taped on or taken off every-night. The things you will need is weave aide straight edge pomade. The weave - aide pomade smoothes down edges to help apply lace front wigs easier. This pomade mold sculpts and add texture. A weave cap and your lace-front is also needed.
Steps to a perfect lace-front :
1. Make sure your hair is placed down neatly . Whether it's braided or just laid down nicely.
2. Apply the weave-aide pomade to your edges and it automatically falls into place.
3. Apply the lace front ( you can leave out a little portion of your hair to get the full effect of it looking natural)
Believe me when I say it's a 1,2,3 step
If your going out you can apply makeup to blend in the lacefront a little bit more
Try it and GOODLUCK !!!!!!
Vintage Creations By Keanna Johnson
For our first upcoming designer we feautred Keanna Johnson out of Brookyln, NY check her out!
Growing up people always told me that my style was different but for the most part weird. I was sort of an outcast when it came down to me not following the latest trends. But that’s the thing, FOLLOWING was never a part of my vocabulary because I am very independent individual and my style comes with that package as well. My motto is “Great minds do not think alike because a great mind is always discovering the next best thing”. I hope you like what you see and get what you like! ;-)
